Harvest 2023 in Volastra, the agricultural heart of the 5 Terre National Park

2023 can certainly be considered the best vintage of the last 5 years in terms of quality and quantity of the harvest in our lands in Volastra, where we have maintained the winemaking tradition of the Cinque Terre Park for four generations.

The usual thanks goes to the cheerful company from Bergamo which this year was joined by the help of a hard-working Swedish-German couple who gave a fundamental contribution to the success of the work in the vineyard and the winemaking in our great-grandfather’s centuries-old cellar.

In addition to the production of the classic DOC 5 Terre dry version, we proceeded to dry splendid bunches of quality grapes from Bosco, Vermentino and Arbarola, which after about 1 month, with artisanal vinification respecting tradition, produced an excellent quantity of Sciacchetrà , the sweet wine from Cinque Terre that has graced the tables of Kings and Popes since the dawn of time.

It is only with consistency and perseverance that these goals can be achieved, in a harsh and wild territory, modified by man over centuries of hard work, which has handed over to our generations a heritage of inestimable value, which the Cinque Terre National Park is helping to preserve and enhance.
